Tom Moon is a singer/songwriter who has gigged all over the UK playing over 100 shows.
Tom Moon is a Singer/Songwriter living in Leeds. The son of a vicar, Tom grew up in numerous cities across the UK as well as Australia.
Music had a heavy impact on Tom’s life from an early age and gave him a sense of belonging. Influenced by guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix and John Fruscainte, Tom’s main ambition was to become a session guitarist, but this was soon to evolve when Tom wrote his first song aged 15.
Travelling was also a big passion in Tom’s life. Nights around the campfire in Australia, writing songs with like-minded musicians, the beauty of acoustic music, and seeing the world has an enormous influence on him. Tom penned many of the songs while living with a poverty-stricken family in The Gambia. While traveling Tom realised that when he played, people stopped and really listened to this music. From then on he decided to become a solo musician.
After attending Liverpool University and playing regularly at the notorious Cavern Club (birthplace of the Beatles), Tom set about recording the songs he had written on his travels.
Tom has gigged all over the UK playing over 100 shows, mostly in London, including headline slots at The Troubadour and St Pancras Old Church.
Tom has released 4 EP’s: ’Radiate’, ‘Tides’, ‘The Hope and the Wait’, and ‘Island’ (which is a collaboration with his good friend and rapper ‘Awoma’). These records have received wide radio play and have more recently featured on adverts. Tom has a way of transporting the listener to a peaceful place in which beauty can be seen in hurt, and joy can spring out of pain.
Tom’s style has been likened to Ben Howard, Ray LaMontague, The Doves, and even Beck.
